Thank you for requesting Drainage service!

Here's what you can expect from Advanced

Now that you've signed up for drainage service, you may be wondering: "what's next?"

We put together this comprehensive guide to inform you about what to expect from us. We want this to be as informative as possible so please read on (we promise it's not like homework!) and let us know if you have any questions.

First Step: Drainage Consultation

Ready to get down to the bottom of your drainage issues? It all starts with your complimentary consultation.

  • Communication: Your Project Manager will reach out to you the day before your consultation as well as the day of when they are en route to your property.
  • Be home: It is important for you to be home during your consultation so that you can show your Project Manager all areas of concern. If you do not think you can be home, please contact our office to discuss additional consultation dates.
  • Scope of work and plan: Your Project Manager will perform a thorough analysis of your property and provide detailed plans for resolving drainage concerns on the site. Your Project Manager will also provide a more detailed estimation of cost for the proposed project which will include all labor + materials. Your consultation includes diagrammed photos of the property to demonstrate the proposed solution (does not include Engineered Plans).
  • After consultation: Carefully review your proposed drainage relief plan. If you have any questions or require additional clarification, your friendly Project Manager is just a call, text, or email away.

Your Drainage Project Expectations

Congrats for signing up to address your drainage issues! Take a look at what a 'typical' drainage project entails. Please note that every project is different!

  • Communications: Once you accept your drainage improvement proposal, our friendly office team will reach out to you to schedule your project. How exciting! Just like with your consultation, you can expect your drainage team to contact you when they are en route to your home. You do not need to be home for your install but we would be happy to see you if you are around.
  • Utility marking: Don't worry, Advanced handles coordination of utility marking. Georgia 811 will send out a technician to locate and mark all underground utilities with spray paint. This is a free service provided by state utilities but required by the State of Georgia when digging around underground utilities. Lines are marked on the property from the service main line to the respective meter. Fiber Optic Internet may be challenging for services to locate since it is non-metallic and difficult to detect.
  • Private Utilities: If you have any private lines such as irrigation, low voltage lighting, electric lines to sheds or other areas, gas lines to generators, grills, etc., please bring it to the attention of your project manager. While Advanced cannot guarantee these lines will not be damaged, Private Lines Assurance can be added to your project for an additional cost of $249 which will subsidize any needed repairs to private lines up to a max expense of $1500. Please speak to your Project Manager for more details.
  • Install: Before we break ground, your drainage team will walk your property and test all private underground lines that have been disclosed to us (if applicable). After the walkthrough, your team will install your new solid, thick-walled PVC pipe drainage system. All pipes will be pitched properly and glued to provide zero to extremely low system maintenance. Your team will work in a way to minimize disruptions to your lawn and landscaping.
  • Warranty: We stand behind our work. All projects using solid PVC piping come with a 5 year workmanship guarantee that protects against defects (not caused by lack of maintenance), etc. This is transferable to new homeowners after selling your property (must notify Advanced for transfer within 30 days of ownership transfer). Project involving Dry Creek Beds and French Drain (perforated) pipe may vary. Discuss warranties related to these projects with your Project Manager.

Prepare for Your Drainage Project

Now that your project is scheduled and you know what to expect from us, we have a few asks of you. Before our team arrives, please:

  • Prep: Ensure your drainage team has full, unrestricted access to the work area. Remove all delicate items from the anticipated work area.
  • Access: Make sure any access fences have been unlocked and pets put away.
  • Water: Allow access to your outdoor water spigots for any needed rinsing or concrete mixing.
  • Communications: Be available during project for phone calls from your drainage team and/or Project Manager.

Project Completion, Final Walkthrough, & Payment

  • Project completion: After the install has been completed, your drainage team will ensure your yard is cleaned up and free of mud and debris. During this step, your team will also be applying all of the finishing touches.
  • Final walkthrough: After your drainage team has completed your project, please plan on being home (or available via video call) to walk your property with your Project Manager or drainage team.
  • Payment: Payment is expected once services and walkthrough have been completed. You are welcome to provide payment to your Project Manager or drainage team if paying by check. A copy of your invoice will be sent in a separate email which will include a link to process your payment online. You're welcome to use the link to pay, you can call the office with a credit card, or mail in a check to the address listed on the invoice.
